Just wanted to say thank you for a wonderful stay at your lodge. It is comforting to know that the Camden Lodge has always met out expectation and relaxation that is needed to make a perfect vacation. As always, Maine was incredible and the weather was wonderful all week long.

We look forward to seeing you and staying at the Camden Lodge on our next visit.
I came to Camden for a much needed rest and relaxation in 1999. I was so uplifted when I arrived and saw what a beautiful atmosphere I have found here, and the environment inside and out was what I really needed. it is such an inspiring place to be, the views of the ocean are spectacular- and the rooms are so cozy and peaceful, bright and beautiful. I never imagined how much I was going to love everything about this wonderful find. I was so overwhelmed, I've made it a must to repeat this adventure every year, and I am never dissapointed. John and Linda Burgess are the BEST. They are always so accomodating, and make this stay such a pleasant and special retreat. I've always taken my dog, eli, my little cocker spaniel, and when we arrive, he knows this is our special treat. My thanks to the Burgess, for all you do.
This was our first real vacation since our son was born 6 years ago. We couldn't have picked a better place than Bay View Cottage. It felt like home. We used it as a base of operations and took some wonderful day trips. Our son's favorite was riding the ferry to Islesboro. At the southern tip of the island is a secluded beach area with spectacular views of the bay. We had several picnics there. Fort Knox above Belfast is another interesting trip. Great places to eat not far from the cottage were The Weathervane in Belfast and the Lobster Pound at Lincolnville Beach. Also Cappys in Camden. We are looking forward to coming back often. Linda and John are excellent hosts. Anything you need is taken care of. They seem to anticipate everything. Thanks again for a memorable vacation.
We were impressed with the cleanliness and courtesy 10 years ago. After a few more (too infrequent) visits, we still are. One of our favorite destinations.

Hallo, Everything about our stay exceeded our most optimistic expectations. Even 2 days of rain couldn't dampen our spirits. We then proceeded to Ogunquit for a few days. While the motel there was very nice, there was something missing: the warm hospitality of John and Linda Burgess who had made us feel like real guests! We miss them and Camden and hope to come back soon. It's a pleasure to be contributing to this guestbook. Thanks again!

We just returned from a 10 day stay (Sep 4-13,2002) at The Lodge at Cambden Hills. We couldn't have chosen a better location for our vacation! Rather than wasting time packing and re-packing every few days, we decided to work from a base equidistant from the areas we planned to explore. It worked out great. We easily executed 10 or more day trips (including Acadia twice) and returned to our home-sweet-away-from-home each evening. Like many of you reading these comments, we researched extensively before deciding on the Lodge and were confounded by the choices. Look no further! A beautifully maintained property; immaculate and thoughtfully appointed accomodations for a reasonable price; tucked away from the bustle of Camden yet a few minutes away from its conveniences; and very nice hosts await you. Highly recommend! We especially appreciated the housekeeping staff's thoughtfulness and attention to detail. We look forward to our next visit.
We had a great stay at Bay View Cottage with its privacy and spectacular view of Penobscot Bay and Islesboro. The location really served our family’s needs. It was close to Camden and Belfast, but distant enough for us to appreciate the natural beauty and quiet of the Northport area. The cottage was a special surprise; roomy, comfortable, and well equipped. We enjoyed breakfasts on the deck, and star gazing before retiring. The Jacuzzi came in handy after our hiking trips to Acadia National Park. All in all, our stay could not have been better. We look forward to booking Bay View again.
Thanks for your welcoming hospitality.
We recently spent a week at the Village Green cottages with our friends, Jim and Carolyn. We loved everything about our stay there. The cottage is lovely and so clean. The location is great. Thank you so much for your hospitality, John and Linda. We will definitely be returning.
We have stayed at The Lodge at Camden Hills or at one on the Burgess' other rental properties every Christmas since 1997 and several other times. There is no place better. We have roamed the whole state and this is our favorite by far. John and Linda are the defination of the words host and hostess. The fireplace, the jacuzzi and the view can make you just want to stay put forever.
We just returned from a totally relaxing and romantic stay at The Lodge. We loved the wood fireplace it was much nicer than the gas type and was all set and ready to go with plenty of firewood. We also loved the jacuzzi and the beautiful views of the bay! The cottage is roomy, clean and very relaxing and the innkeepers are very pleasant and hospitable. A great place for a wedding anniversary or a get away without the kids! We will certainly be back again!
What a wonderful place! I was in the Boston area for a conference and was planning on staying a few extra days and taking ski lessons. Unfortunatley the weather was unseasonably warm and nothing was open in early December of 2001. I love Maine and "settled" for a visit to Camden. I had not stayed in Camden before and was thinking about a bed and breakfast but stayed at the Lodge the first night and had no desire after that to change places. Unfortunately I could only stay three days before heading home. I can't wait to go back!
My husband and I went there for our honeymoon. It was a delight! We returned for our first year anniversary and it was just as great as our first time. Thanks John and Lisa for your hospitality and great work!!!!!!
We have stayed at multiple hotels and B+Bs in Camden. We have returned to The Lodge at Camden Hills, as it is our favorite. The rooms are clean, Tom and Linda are professional and the rates are reasonable. I highly recommend their property. You can't beat the vistas or location to town.
We stayed at the Lodge the first week of October, 2001 for our honeymoon. We honestly could not have chosen a more beautiful place! We loved the fireplace and jacuzzi tub, not to mention the breathtaking views! The staff was most friendly and it was an absolute treat to be pampered all week. Our friends and family are amazed at the natural beauty seen in our pictures of Camden and the surrounding areas of Mid-Cost Maine. A honeymoon and vacation we will always cherish. Hope to be back for an anniversary in the future!
Visited in August. The stay was fabulous. The room was the nicest and cleanest of the entire vacation. Great location in Maine. The Burgess' were very helpful regarding attractions in the area. Hope to visit agian someday.
Our family of 4 spent three days in late August at one of the well-equipped Village Green cottages. Its location near Belfast was perfect for day trips to Acadia Natl Park and the Camden area. This was by far the best lodging we had during our east coast vacation.
A very nice place to stay. It was easier to come and go then a bed and breakfast but so much nicer than staying at a motel. Loved the deck.
We thoroughly enjoyed our August 2001 stay at the Village Green cottages - accomodations were wonderful - far better than we had anticipated - but most of all it was the extraordinary "customer service" we received from John and Linda Burgess - their attention to making your stay perfect in every way - that will have us coming back in future years.
We love the Lodge at Camden Hills. When we had our son Jacob, we were devastated to think we couldn't find a beautiful place to stay with and infant. John and Linda were thrilled to have us and even provided the crib for us at the lodge. This is a wonderful place to go with your children and I encourage anyone with a family to stay at the lodge. Thank you for making our stays memorable. We will see you again soon.
We recommend the Lodge without reservation. Over the last five years we stayed at the Lodge nineteen times. The service was uniformly excellent. The staff made us feel that the Lodge was our home away from home. We loved the fires we burned in our fire place, and the Jacuzzi baths we took after a day walking up Mt. Battie. It was a special treat to watch the sun rise over Penobscot Bay, and to see the changing color of the Bay as the weather varied from clear skies and sunshine to fog and cloudy skies. The fires made our home away from home a cozy place to read and recharge the batteries. Unfortunately, we won't be staying at the Lodge again, because John Burgess, the proprietor, served as our real estate agent and found the perfect house for us in the Camden area.
We have thoroughly enjoyed each stay and look forward to the next. The rooms are always immaculate with everything you need. Beautifully decorated. A wonderful, relaxing get-away.
I love my stay at the Lodge each June, just with I could stay longer!! The rooms are lovely , the grounds are beautiful and Camden is an extra special town! See you next June....
For the discriminating traveler... Stay one night, a weekend or longer, you will not be disappointed! The "Lodge" offers superb hospitality, with attention to every detail.
Perfect in every way! The next time we vacation in Maine, the Lodge at Camden Hills will be our homebase, not just a stop-over.
Our stay at the Lodge was extremely relaxing, just the right environment for such a vacation. Keep up the good work.
We've spent a good many days in Maine over the years. We've stayed at some wonderful inns, motels, cottages, and camps. But we always come back to The Lodge. It is the one place that makes us feel as if we're in our own home.

We just spent a wonderful week at the Lodge. The accomodations are spacious, clean and comfortable. The view is fantastic, and the people in Camden and nearby towns are very friendly. What makes the Lodge special, are the extra efforts that the owners put into it. The details such as the firewood for the fire place, the decorations on the walls, and the thoughtful placement of lighting and furniture are things which make us feel at home. By the end of the week, we really did not want to leave. We will defiitely revisit again.
In April, we stayed at your Lodge for the first time. We really enjoyed the lovely accommodations. We will most definitely be back again. We're hoping to come next summer and stay with friends at one of your off-site cottages. Thanks for your hospitality!
The Lodge At Camden Hills is my home-away-from-home. Your place is great, and I always look forward to coming back.
Just spent a great winter weekend at The Lodge. Jacuzzi Cottage was wonderful, especially enjoyed fireplace and view!
We came here 5 years ago for our honeymoon and loved it. Now it is our anniversary and can't wait to come back.
We enjoyed another great visit. We will be back. Thank you for a great time. Your place is perfect!
